On the occasion of HEIRLOOM's launch, Oslo-based visual artist Marianne Heier has been commissioned to create a new work that speaks to the organization's profile and activities. Heier's new performance Lost Light debates inheritance from a feminist legal perspective and explores the premises and problematics of history writing.
Questions related to economy and circulation of value are central topics in Marianne Heier's work, with the inherent power structure of the gift economy as a recurring theme. Heier's practice is primarily rooted in performance, but also includes elements of video, text, drawing and installation.
